Big news: This is our first blog post 🤩 But why is Gamechanger launching a company blog now? 🤔
You've probably noticed: We at Gamechanger - Professional Gaming Furniture actually have more to say than can fit into a limited Instagram caption or a fleeting Facebook post. At Gamechanger, we could fill entire articles with our expertise on ergonomics, office chairs, and gaming, and we want to offer you content that provides a high level of added value. And what better place to do that than on our own blog?
But why a gaming chair?
The story behind the Gamechanger Gaming Chair began with two promising words: “I quit!” 😅
A bold move, born from a desire for change, which ultimately led founder Janet Carstensen to leave her well-paid job at an international manufacturer of ergonomic office chairs. Initially traveling in Asia, Janet stumbled upon a then-new trend that continues to this day : gaming chairs with a racing design. 😔
She quickly noticed the flaws in the racing seats, and besides their poor quality, their ergonomics left much to be desired . Were esports players and gamers, who spend hours of their lives sitting at a desk, really supposed to sit on these? For Janet, who had years of expertise in workplace ergonomics, this was a complete no-go . She knew: an entire generation of people was ruining their backs simply because of the wrong chairs, all while pursuing their hobby . So, one thing led to another: back in Germany, she immediately began searching for a partner for her idea – namely, to significantly improve the seating comfort for gamers with ergonomic gaming chairs. Armed with her expertise in ergonomics, she found a receptive audience at a long-established manufacturer in the heart of North Rhine-Westphalia – and the rest is history. 🙌 Since then, the name Gamechanger has stood for ergonomic gaming chairs with a simple, sporty design – Made in Germany.

Be part of the solution
As a registered trademark since September 2018, Gamechanger - Professional Gaming Furniture means more to us than just selling a chair. Behind it is now an entire team that shares a vision and wants to draw attention to a general problem. In today's society, everything is geared towards rapid consumption – to the detriment of both people and the environment . We expect virtually every product to be available to us at any time and at the lowest possible price. The consequences of this have been ignored by the majority of society for years. The racing seat segment is just one small example of the many industries that promise quality but produce cheaply in the Far East under questionable conditions – conditions that, like us, we can no longer afford at the expense of human well-being and the environment.
There's a widespread shift in societal thinking these days, and Gamechanger products aren't just meant to be a durable and therefore sustainable alternative to products that, due to their poor quality, you have to buy two or three times. Our clear company values regarding people, business, and the environment are also part of this – in other words, the way we approach these issues. And let's face it: we configure our gaming PCs to such a high standard from the start that they serve us well for many years – and we only need to replace a few minor hardware components gradually, instead of replacing the entire PC. Surely our backs are worth that kind of reliability, too, shouldn't they?
The logbook for the Gamechanger mission
For us at Gamechanger, being part of the solution doesn't just mean offering you an incredibly comfortable gaming chair . It also means providing you with information that other manufacturers withhold in order to generate short-term profits instead of delivering long-term value to people.
With the Gamechanger Blog, we want to make this informal contribution to our mission in the future. Essentially, it's our mission log. We'll break down important aspects of the gaming chair industry for you in detail 🕵️♀️, while always remaining transparent . We'll answer all your questions about healthy sitting posture at your desk.
and it also applies to gaming. You'll learn what ergonomics actually is, since everyone keeps talking about it without ever really getting down to brass tacks about what ergonomics really means. 🤷🏻♀️ We'll also cover tips and tricks for healthy sitting , and last but not least: we'll even touch on the passion that causes us suffering without the perfect chair.
Long story short: We've launched a blog and hope it will soon become part of your regular reading before bed or with your morning hot drink. ❤️
